Seen over on BMXMania.com, the Big Daddy, Eric Rupe is taking a step back to race amateur after 34 years in the Pro Ranks. Check out the full release over on BMXMania.
About a week before GT dropped the majority of their BMX program, I went up to Kingston, NY to shoot with Alaina Henderson for the cover of BMX Nation Issue 3. While there I shot a bike check with her, figuring I would use it for espn.com/action. Well, a week later, I got a message from Alaina letting me know that she was now on Felt. Then I got a call from Mike at BMX Nation that we would have to reshoot the cover. We did. I would have reshot the bike check too, but they didn’t have the new gear in yet, so the GT bike check just went to waste. It’s a slow week in BMX leading up to the Oldsmar National in Florida this weekend, so take a look at this outdated and unusable bike check gallery here.
It’s been about 14 hours from the time I left my hotel this morning until now. Check out the photos in my gallery.
I’m going to find out what this ‘grand sierra’ place is all about.
Marc Willers won pro. Corben Sharrah put up a damn good fight though. dR made his way to 3rd for hist Friday race back since last July.
This cellphone shot seen via facebook. He is quoted saying ” not Felt.. new GT” and “it’ll take a little getting used to but stoked for it!! just going to have to get out there and rep those colors the best i can!” in the comment area of the photo. Watch out for a shot of him in his fresh new gear this weekend in Reno.
